I've visited this website many times to maintain my old iRule-based custom remote that runs on an old RCA android tablet, but time to move on.

I'm going to build a DemoPad remote on an old iPad, and will program commands for Sony TV, AVR and BluRay player -and- Kodi running on a Windows10 PC. The iRule app talks directly to Kodi, and talks to a Global Cache WIFI2IR gateway with IR blasters to the Sony gear.

Still doing research but a basic question is, how do I know which group of commands to use - for example, Sony12 or Sony15 or Sony20, or 26.241, 26.250?

Sorry if this is a n00b question and I just missed it, thanks in advance.
