Discrete On/Off is great, but what about discrete input selection? I can find almost everything I need (CD, Video 1, Video 2, etc.) except DVD. For some reason my Pront WILL NOT learn from my Onkyo remote (RC-390M). This is irritating to say the least. Does anyone have or know where I could get the input selection discrete codes?

Have you tried this file?

[Link: remotecentral.com]

BTW, the number one problem with learning is bad batteries on either your Pronto or the OEM remote.

These are also the generic Onkyo receiver discrete power commands. If they work, great; if not, then I am not aware of any others. Unfortunately, IUC not all models respond to discrete power commands.

If the MX-800 uses the same software as an MX-700 for editing with a PC, then I think the answer is yes.

The rough steps are using Pronto edit, assign a couple of buttons, paste the pronto onto those buttons. Save as a ccf file.

Then open the MX editor and import the ccf file.

I don't have a Pronto or an MX, so someone else (or reading the various FAQ's) will have to provide step by step instructions. The MX forums are likely to be more helpful than a generalized one like this.

I don't have the gear but someone sent me an official list of commands that would indicate that they DO work. It has a picture of the remotes and they have a Power and Standby Button.. Sometimes Power acts as a toggle and Standby is a discrete. If so a macro for Standby|Power Toggle = On. You may have to select the "Audio" function key first.

It's true.

I have an Onkyo TX-NR801E and find that I can put it into direct tuning mode with the Integra code given in the Discrete Codes file section. Unfortunately, the remote provided with the receiver (RC-511M) doesn't provide any keys to send the necessary 5 digits for the frequency. The digit keys in the above-mentioned file don't do it either. Any other ideas where I could get the needed digit codes?
