Hi, I haven't programed my remotes in many years.
My HDMI 1 code doesn't work anymore. Rather than going thru the relearning process all over again, I was hoping for a 4 digit code for Samsung TV's HDMI 1.
This is like the 30 second skip code 0030 used on for Motorola remotes. then I could program the code into my Motorola remote.

Only UEI made remotes accept advanced codes (EFC) for individual functions like discrete inputs. What is the code in Motorola remote used for the Samsung tv?

The Motorola remote is programmable and I have the USB cable for programing it.
Rather than reloading the software and re-programing my remote I thought it would be easier to enter a code. Looks like you are saying I will not be able to enter a code for discrete HTMI 1.

I can't tell for sure without knowing the model of remote and the setup code used for the Samsung tv? UEI Samsung tv codes with repeating volume commands are usually 0702(10702) or 0812(10812). Only UEI made remotes which can be under many different name brands like Motorola, are the only ones that use 5-digit setup codes.

I guess I could be clearer. The remote is the silver cable box remote used by most cable companies. By using the JP1.3 (6 pin) connector I used a program to map the remote and had the ability to add discrete codes for things like power on or power off.
If you would let me know the location of the software I could find the answer by looking in the samsung rmdu file. I seem to remember a program that was web based and would run OK in Linux. If you know the location of that one it would be a great help.        Thanks
