Just curious if anyone has had any luck with codes for this series. The local importer claims that discrete codes are not a priority from the manufacturer and cannot be provided at present.

It would make life a lot easier if they were available.

Have you got any learnt Hex Codes you can post?

What remote are you using?

My guess is that they are probably using RC5 Protocol.

The black remote codes are RC5 Protocol. The white remote, I would not have a clue. I can't imagine they even work...did you try them?

Does the black remote also work for the Tv's that use the white remote?

If not you will have to try learning the white remote ones again.

I can give you a Database File for the black remote with all 128 possible hex codes for that Device Number that you can use to search for possible discrete's.

But you are right, the learnt codes from the white remote do not work via a pronto. The black codes work fine.
I've tried learning the white codes several different ways. I either get the same long code or a (blue) negative capture.

I would very much appreciate 'black' remotes hex codes.

You can download a XCF File and Database File here.

I have include some RC6 Codes as well because some manufactures also use RC6 Protocol (may or may not work) as well as RC5. The XCF File has Buttons for all Hex Codes that you can load to your TSU9600 for easier testing. Add the Database File to your My Database first before opening the XCF File which should assign the Hex Codes to the correct Button Numbers...I think. Button 12 of the RC5 codes will be the Power Toggle.

Just a word of warning when testing, pay attention to how the TV is reacting to the codes because you may find a Service Menu or something like that which you may need to press the same Button Number again to get out of. It is rare but it can happen!

I think the Pronto is totally failing to learn those codes. Reasonable theories for that are:

1) The batteries are bad in the white remote. Even if the white remote works to control the actual device, the battery condition in the sending remote must be better to create a signal that can be learned than to create a signal to actually control the device.

2) You're learning with the remotes too close together an overwhelming the IR sensor in the Pronto. The right learning distance for the white remote might be different than for the black.

3) Maybe too far apart, but I've never seen symptoms like that from too far apart.

4) Maybe the white remote is just broken and sending garbage. Does it control the actual device?

I have been in contact with Schaub Lorenz Australia. They tell me that a new f/w is being made for the current range of tv's it allow full discrete support. The current tv's do not support discrete codes.

Hopefully it is only a few weeks away.

JasonVP - The codes only offer the same as the original remote, no sneaky discrete codes were buried in their. As Sydinstaller pointed out the current firmware will not support any discrete codes.

Unfortunately i have received different information from the same source as Sydinstaller, with I.D. saying that it is not a priority as far as the manufacturer was concerned and it would be some time away (... as of 3 weweks ago) hence my endevour to see if anyone had any discrete codes which may have worked.
Basically, it's kind of poor for this brand to not have any discrete codes available considering that it is primarily sold through specialist stores in Australia.

Let's hope Sydinstaller is right.
