I emailed Atlona, asking for the RC5 codes for their AT-AVS-COMP scaler.

They wrote back promptly with an Excel spreadsheet, but said "this is all we have". Apparently they don't have contact with the engineers that actually designed this thing.

What is confusing me is that ProntoEdit Pro 2 only allows a system code (0-31) and a command code (0-127) in RC5 mode. Does anyone know how to convert what Atlona sent me into something PEP will accept?

The reason I'm trying this is that when PEP learns codes from the remote, they activate the function on the Atlona multiple times. This is particularly annoying with the + and - keys, used to scroll around the menus.

The codes learned as NEC1, so NEC2 is not correct.

IIUC, the original remote sends NEC1 and a short press does not trigger multiple steps. The Pronto learns NEC1 but a short press does trigger multiple steps.

When you have a signal timing problem like that, there is often no clean solution.

Maybe using an NEC2 signal even though NEC1 is correct would fix it. There is enough chance that I guess it is worth trying. But more likely, that won't help.

If that doesn't do it, next best would be constructing a signal that triggers only one step of the feature no matter how long it is pressed. You would prefer a button that is one step for a short press and multiple steps for a long press. But if that isn't possible, one step always is better than multiple steps always.

In the NEC2 version of the signal if you swap the third and fourth values (change 0000 0022 to 0022 0000) that should give you a signal that will trigger only one step whether the button press is long or short.

Thanks! The Atlona responds properly (no multi-press extraneous junk) with the codes you provided (from the NEC1 table). Apparently it was just an issue with the way the Pronto learned the Atlona remote.
