Evening everyone.

I've had this job for a while, trying to find the correct codes. Got a huge, huge pdf excel spreadsheet with many, many denon codes already converted in it. Tried every single power toggle code that it listed, and none of them worked. Well, a couple months later, our man at A*** got us a new pdf for this specific device. Unfortunately, these are not in hex yet.

I'm using denon pronto hex generator (sweet program), and just need a little guidance.

If someone wants to help me guide me through the code generation process, I'd love the help.

Here's what I've figured out on my own so far.

Genre1 is 5h, 2 is 2h. So already I've had to over-ride genre/ID. I've also figured out that I need to type the binary in backwards from what it ends up being in the windows calculator. Other values that I'm not sure of are the Data Code (d2), Parity (Dp), along with 6 byte codes. 2 stay the same every code, and then the last 4 change for every different command.

Again, any/all help appreciated.

A link to the PDF or Product would be handy :).

Is this what you are using?

Have you downloaded MakeHex and placed them in the same folder?

Do you need to generate a CCF File to make things easier?

Cheers
Jason

You've not mentioned what the device is that you're struggling to control.
Does the Denon PDF list your device?
Ps. A copy of the PDF would be nice.
Also posting a hex code that you've found to work with your device always helps.

It is a DHT FS3.

One of Denon's stereo sound-bars + sub.
The Denon PDF that I am using has ONLY this device and none others.

Also, I don't have any hex codes that work as it was a floor model and the remote was lost.

Jasonvp, you have mail!

1). Open the Denon Hex Generator and select the Kaseiko Tab.

Denon Hex Generator
2a). Select "Override Genre".

b). In the PDF you will see,
e.g.
Key No.  Name              Genre 1 (D0)      Genre 2(D1)                DATA Code (D2)
KEY 1     ON/STANDBY   SYSTEM (5H)     AMP/RECEIVER (2H)      POWER ON/STANDBY (083H)

Genre 1 is the Device Number Column.
Genre 2 is the Sub Device Number Column.
DATA Code is the Function Number Column.

PDF
c). SYSTEM (5H): 5H is the Device Number in Hex = 101 in Binary and 5 in Decimal.
(Byte 3  00001010)
Denon Hex Generator
Edit the Genre 1 Window to 1010 and Device Number below it will show 5.

PDF
d). AMP/RECEIVER (2H): 2H is the Sub Device Number in Hex = 10 in Binary and 2 in Decimal.
(Byte 4  01001100)
Denon Hex Generator
Edit the Genre 2 Window to 0100 and Sub Device Number below it will show 2.

Denon Hex Generator
3a). Select "Enter Function in Decimal".

PDF
b). POWER ON/STANDBY (083H): 83H is Function Number in Hex = 131 in Decimal.
(Byte 4 & 5 01001100 00010000 right to left)
Denon Hex Generator
Enter 131 in the "Enter Function in Decimal" Window and select "Generate Hex Code". You now have your Hex Code for POWER ON/STANDBY.

4). Repeat above and adjust Device, Sub Device and Function Number as needed for each Function.

Cheers
Jason

EDIT

For others, this is the Doc I am referring to.

Thanks a ton for the help.

I'm going to run two codes by you to make sure I can do this on my own at a customer's house. One, the example, and the other a random one.

Here is what I got going through your example:

Power On/Standby-

0000 0070 0000 0032 0080 0040 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0ACE

Volume Mute-

0000 0070 0000 0032 0080 0040 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0ACE

I'll be heading out there next week Tuesday. If those are correct, it is a pretty straightforward process as you described it.

Your Hex Codes are correct.

You can use IR Tools and Decode IR to check them yourself. Place both in the same Folder.

IR Tools
Decodes a learned infrared Hex codes (only codes that start with 0000) that you paste (Ctrl +V) into the Hex Code Window and press the Decode Hex Button and a box appears to give you information on the Protocol, Device Number and Function Number (OBC). Requires the DecodeIR.DLL file.

DecodeIR.DLL
File required by DecodeCCF and IR Tools.
