I am using my 605 with my HDTV, and have Verizon Fios as my HD cable input through HDMI.

This is the remote with my system (I don't know brand or model):
[Link: www22.verizon.com]

I've tried my codes for the Onkyo receiver. Some codes turn the machine ON and control VOL and MUTE. Other codes turn the unit OFF. No code can do both ! Can anyone help?

Some suggestions I have read have talked about "shifting" the code to another hey, but those all mention using a SETUP key which this remote does not have.

Any other suggestions?

Would love to have only one remote until I get a Harmony, and this is the only problem.

Jeff

Hey Jeff,

I realize this isn't going to help you, but thought I'd commiserate with you. I also have the Onkyo TX-SR605 with the Verizon Fios remote, and am having the exact same problem with one code allowing the Fios remote to turn the AVR on & off.

FWIW, I think the Fios remote may be the most poorly planned, least useful multi-unit remote with the crappiest programming I've ever had the displeasure of trying to use. It did work the old Sony receiver fine, but that one blew up...

Did you figure anything out with the 605 since you posted this?

I know this won't help, I have the onkyo 705 and directv with the same problems.
