I also purchased a 20" DVD/TV combo. I have the original remote, but can't seem to program the remote. I can't even receive the local channels on the TV. Any suggestions?

I also purchased a Trutech 20" tv/dvd combo from target- I am trying to program my io cable remote (from Cablevision) and have tried every code listed for all tv brands and have had no luck. Cablevision uses a three number code- does anyone have any advice?? I would never purchase this brand of tv again- too much of a pain when switching channels and now the remote issue.

So I'm assuming no one ever got their Targe TruTech TV
to work with DirecTV? I have tried everything - every
code... even went back to Target and exchanged the TV
thinking it was just that one... but now I have a 2nd
TruTech and still no luck.

I am going to go the the Good Housekeeping Rescue line with this issue and invite the rest of you to do the same. Their email address is http://[email protected]. The Chicago Tribune also has a help-line. The lack of code is the problem with my 19". I bought it in march 2007, but didn't try to use cable box with it until Oct. 2007. I have my receipt and called Target, asking them to simply allow me to replace outside the warranty since a TV without a code really doesn't do much good. Customer service supervisor tried to bounce me back to the manufacturer. Finally refused to allow me to replace. Wasn't until I found this that i realized there was an issue.

I bought a TruTech 27'' LCD last Spring. The TV is ok, but I just CANNOT get my Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote to sync with the TV. I've tried the Daewoo and Funai codes with no success.

I don't understand how this particular brand can be immune to universal remotes and if by design why the manufacturer would think that's a good idea. Also, there support is terrible.

I haveTrutech PV1615T LCD 15" SD/HDTV model I got this last year from Target. I always wanted to take it back for a full refund, but I never did. Everything was okay until last night when my pet dog Snuffet crewed up the tiny watch battery remote. Now that's gone, I can't find the codes to turn off and on the TV. I could use a Radio Shack RF Remote Control device but all that would do is turn the set on and off. I found a universal remote that suppose to support Trutech is said it on the box, so I got 3 of them. URC-R6 it's so new that you won't find the remote on their web site. I got Hauppauge MediaMVP got that to work using the learning remote feature. Cox digital cable box with HDTV it is up right away. But I still can't get the TruTech to see the remote. I've tried all the brands you all listed and still nothing.

There is even a web site devolted to this stuff and still the author of that site said to go to wal-greens and buy their universal remote. It's call Living Solutions cost is $9 bucks and it's so huge it looks like my cheap remote that came with the Trutech 15". That one as a lot of codes some I never seem before, walmart is on the list also. I wish Target was too. It has Program Search Mode where it will search for the right code but that can take a longtime. Still haven't found the code for the tv yet?

I might advise all to go back to Target and ask the Manager if you can take your universal remote and just program the one that have in the store so you can at least have something. The URC-R6 is sold at wal-mart for $21 it has memory backup that will last a very longtime even if the 2 AA goes bad. I did get 3 of them as I have Emerson HDTV 37" that no universal remote will work with. But the URC-R6 also has learning mode. So just need the remote and I'll be okay...

Those who claim the Philips PM435S worked with TruTech was that the LCD SD/HDTV versions or was that the tube CRT. I didn't see Trutech listed anywhere for that brand.

Anyone got any ideas let me know otherwise the Venturer which is Trutech clone has the PV1615 remote cost is $15 plus UPS $8.50 so that would be $23.50 for the remote which is a rip off!

I also lost the remote to a Trutech TV. Got a Phillips
universal remote (silver with blue buttons). None of the
Trutech codes would work,But thinking that DaeWoo was
the parent company I tried their codes. The first one
I tried for the TV was 0614 and it took. The universal
remote works fine now. I would think the DaeWoo codes
would work on all the Trutech electronics.

Which Trutech TV do you have? LCD or CRT? If LCD which one?

Update.. I've ordered the remote for my PV1615LT U from Trutech a.k.a ALCO Electronics in ON Canada. I hope they send me the newer one looks larger.. I've found the code for Trutech 1530 but it's for a Philips SU remote. Oh well I'd just returned my 3 URC-R6 because they don't seem to keep the macros or they get remove if you had more to another device. I had found the remote sometimes it doesn't work right. Calling them up on the phone seems to only here these words "you get what you paid for"

I going to get Harmony Logitech instead.

Later..
