I have looked everywhere for the discrete power codes for the Denon DVD-2500. Has anyone found them? I talked to the Denon service department and they said that they didn't make any, but maybe someone found some that work? Help!

I don't know if they exist.

As a work-around, if your dvd player is like most dvd players, the play command will turn on the player - giving a known on (sort-of-discrete).

For the off command, construct a macro with the play command, followed by the power command.

PLAY
(short delay)
POWER

Works for us every time.

JJP,

Thanks. You are right, the play button does turn on the player. I think I am just going to leave the power off manual, and leave the tv and reciever power on a macro together.

Didn't you at least look in the discrete codes section on this site? There are discrete codes for the DVD-2500 on this page: [Link: remotecentral.com]

I've been using them for some time.

I tried those and could not get them to work. Please verify I am doing this correctly. I copy them from the web, then goto view IR and paste them in the box. Then download to the Pronto. I will keep trying.

Oops! Sorry guys, I have a DVD-2800. That explains why the other codes didn't work. If anyone knows anything about the 2800 please let me know. Otherwise I guess I will post a new (correct) thread in a week or so.
