I am desperately trying to seek out discrete codes for my Panasonic TH-42-PX20 Plasma and Mitsubishi DD-8040 DVD player. Most importantly the on/off's. Any help would be much appreciated!

....I have been told that Panasonic does not even have discrete codes for this Plasma display, nor for this Mitsubishi DVD player. Can anyone verify this?
