Hi Please help me I am trying to find the decrete inputs codes fro my Dell w1900 TV. I need to change between the Svideo input and the VGA inputs. I can't find out how to generate these codes and the remote control that comes with the w1900 has an input button with a long menu that requires many key presses to change input channels.
I am not even sure if it is possible? please can you help all I have to go on is this datasheet I found... below

Dell Televsion Remote Control Codes
4 STRATOSPHERE CODE SET Based on Philips RC6 Infrared protocol. Covers televisions and remote controls beginning with W2600, W1900, W4200 This code set may only be used to control receiving devices made by Dell This code set must be referred to as a Dell code set in all documentation 4.1 Carrier Frequency The transmissions use a carrier frequency of 36 kHz. 4.2 IR Remote Control Timing Diagrams This section specifies the timing of pulses in the IR transmission. The key held method is separate repeat packets. 4.2.1 Packet Structure The packet structure is defined below: t= 0.4444 Single Frame Header customer code Device Type+parity command code Signal free time half symbol times 20 32 16 16 6 time in mS 8.888 14.2208 7.1104 7.1104 2.6664 Header, and field content MSB's are transmitted first 240 t Frame repetition rate: 106.656 mS Frame repetition rate is from the start of the leading packet to the start of the next packet. The Frame shall be repeated at this rate as long as the associated remote button is held down. The device type for the Stratos remote is defined as 0x00: Advanced TV The MSb (first bit transmitted) is a toggle bit In OEM mode the fields after header and customer code are customer definable. Here we define a field to be called the Device Type. This field identifies the specific device (for example, a television) to which the command code applies. The device type allows multiple but different products from the same manufacturer to utilize a common command code set, and still maintain individual device control. This definition allows for up to 127 possible device definitions. The Toggle bit is "toggled" each time a new button press is made. This provides a determination if a new button press was made when signal drop out due to shadowing or fringe reception is occurring. The Toggle bit is transmitted first. What I did is programmed a macro which included the following Learned Keys
Input Key "A Numbered key" (ie I used 9 to switch to the S-Video 2 input) Enter Key

Hi DBloch
Thanks for your post, but I am not totally clear what you are saying.
If I take the orginal remote and press "input" then say "9" then "enter" then it does not change the input. I have tried other numbers instead of 9 with no luck.
Any ideas?

Hi to everybody
can you help me please?
I've try to use the information 4 STRATOSPHERE CODE SET related to IR remote controller of TV Dell W1900, and all the information related standard key of Dell remote control are correct, and every comand listed above function correctly, except command to select single inputs, like as DVI XGA AV2 (SVIDEO)
do you know why?
and I wolud like use direct command for switch between double inputs, in POP1 view mode, like as
POP1 mode (Picture Out Picture) big XGA - small Y/C POP1 mode (Picture Out Picture) big Y/C - small XGA POP1 mode (Picture Out Picture) big DVI - small Y/C POP1 mode (Picture Out Picture) big Y/C - small DVI
do you know whitch are the single commands to select theese double inputs?
or in alternative do you know if exist the possibily of enter in a special service menω, using sytandard infrared commander (menω + special number), to obtain this functionality?
do you know if exist another possibilities of command the monitor Dell W1900 with any other serial interface, to command the TV from PC? for example using the data interchange pin of SCART connector?
