I've tried the website but I'm told the DPX1200 extended codes are only available thru a Rav2000 which I don't have. Wonder if anyone has these codes in a mxd or ccf? Thanks much.

what remote are you using - yamaha has full discretes on their site

you can convert the codes using make hex and insert into pronto edit. i use urc remotes but keep an old rc5000 for just such an occasion

Thanks for the reply. I'm using Universal Remotes MX850's and also Elan ViA! touchpanels. Yamaha told me the only way to get the codes was from their RAV2000 that I don't have.

The mx850 editing program can import signals from a Pronto CCF file.

One path is to use MakeHex to generate the ProntoHex as text, then use IrPanels to convert that to a CCF file, then import into the 850.

The codes may already be in the URC universal database - have you done a recent update? I just took a look through my installed copy (which hasn't been updated since the beginning of the year) and does have quite a number of commands, but I can tell it's not chock-full of extended goodness.

If URC hasn't added anything new, the CCF route is definitely the most painless (using the Universal Browser feature in MX-Editor).

And speaking of which...

Here is a page with extended codes for the DPX1100 - Perhaps they'll also work on the 1200:

If I wasn't falling asleep right now I'd give more info - just search recent threads that expain how to use Makehex - you can then use IRPanels and ProntoEdit to make a CCF to import into MX-Editor.

Note the codes in the document above are in HEX. Either convert to decimal or make sure Makehex outputs hex labels foor you to follow along.

Thanks Twisted. I've never used MakeHex (don't even know where to get it, haven't been on the RC site as much as before), but would like to know more. I haven't been able to find the codes in the URC database or a .ccf file with the codes. I'm told by Yamaha, that I can only get them from the RAV2000. I've got the PDF, but can't really do anything with it. Thanks.

These codes don't have anything to do with RAV2000 or any other specific remote. They'll work for anything if you have a way to get them in there. And for Prontos and URC remotes it's easy.

Here's one thread where I mention how to use Makehex:

John Fine has also posted instructions numerous times. A search should bring up some examples.

After using makehex you'll be left with a plain text file containing all the commands as Pronto Hex. You have to then use IRPanels or ProntoEdit to make a CCF with the commands you want (the ones mentioned in the Yamaha PDF).

When you edit the IRP file to drop onto Makehex you have to specify the device number (and subdevice) in Decimal. It's 209. Funnuly enough, the same devce number as a Yamaha projector discussed in this thread:

Hopefully these threads and the makehex readme (please make sure to read it) are enough for you to get this all going.
