Hi Guy's
Desperate hope you can help.
Just bought 2 new electronic pieces and cannot find discrete of/off for either piece. Tried walkarounds for both, no good options.
I have a Sony RDR-HX900 dvd recorder, and a 50" Pioneer PDP-5050HD plasma TV. I have a MX-850 remote and a radio shack 15-2103 to help with discrete programming.
Does anyone have discrete on/off for either units or have some walkaround that I have not thought of. The Sony unit only turns on with the provided remote using the toggle on/off or the disk eject. The pioneer only comes with the toggle on/off with the provided remote.
I'm sure someone out their has a solution. Help please.

The pioneer will respond to discrete commands that are in these ccf's [Link: remotecentral.com]

Did you ever get a reply regarding the Sony? I have a Sony GX300 DVD Recorder and it also lacks any obvious discrete codes. Real pain in the ass from Sony and I have no idea why they are making things so hard for us by not supporting discreted power on/off (at a bare minimum)
