Hey guys,

I've got a 55" Hitachi plasma that has an RGB input for PC connections. I have found discretes for all inputs except this one. I emailed hitachi, and they said they don't have a discrete for it, but sometimes the customer support people don't even know what a discrete code is, let alone whether their products have them or not. Anyways, if anyone has this code, I would be eternally grateful.

Thanks,
Mark

Hi

I know it exists as I have the same 55" Hitchi Plasma and my factory supplied remote has discreet buttons on it for the two RGB inputs (RGB and DVI). I have them learned on my Sony universal remote and use them every day. I guess this is no help to you, but you are not searching for something that doesn't exist!!

Regards
Peter

Can you post the sony code here? If you can, maybe we can convert it to pronto code. Thanks for letting me know there is a code out there.

Sorry, but, as far as I know, there is no way to get the codes out of the Sony remote (AV3000), as it is simply a "dumb" learning remote!

The Hitachi remote which came with my display has their part number CLE-958. It's strange that you have a different one, although our models my not be identical?

There seems to be a code shown on the Hitachi USA web site although this is apparently for 2003 Plasma displays?

[Link: hitachi.us]

The code shown at line 24 seems to be for TV/RGB switching - it might be worth a try? Anyway, best of luck,

Peter

Thanks Peter. I tried that tv/rgb code, but it didn't do anything for my set. I'll keep searching, maybe someone will have it sometime. I wrote a macro to get to my RGB input, and it works fine, just a little slower than the direct route. If you ever meet anyone with a Philips Pronto, have them learn the code into their remote for me, and send it to me ok?

Thanks,
Mark

You could try these. They're for a 42PD5200 but may be the same.

RGB1:
0000 006D 0024 0000 0155 00AC 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 05EA 0155 0055 0015 00AC

RGB2:
0000 006D 0026 0000 0155 00AC 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 05EA 0155 0055 0015 0E55 0155 0055 0015 00AC

They should be in the Universal DB on an NG.

Good Luck

phil

Thanks Phil, but those didn't work. The RGB1 code changed my aspect ratio, and the RGB2 didn't do anything.

Thanks again for trying,

Mark

I have the same issue with the same TV; want to find a discrete code to switch input to RGB. Did you ever find a solution?
