Hi everyone
Firstly, I am a noob, so please forgive any faux pas etc.
I have just got my RU950 in the UK, and am setting it up for my system. I have had a hunt around for some discrete codes for my Pioneer Plasma (435XDE) and DVDO Iscan HD+ for Power On / Off. I have tried some of the codes for the Pioneer given in a few threads, but to no avail. I can find nothing on the site about the Iscan - am I alone in using this upscaler?
Any help you can give would be much appreciated by me (and of course my wife in the due course!)
Many thanks in advance

Okay, so I have now found some IScan codes to try tonight - but I am still needing the Pioneer codes. Anyone got any ideas? I have tried those that I can find on the site, so perhaps it is a learning trick thing?

Learn the power toggle command for the Pioneer and post the Pronto hex. Also, check and see if a numeral or ch+(program+) will turn on the PlasmaTV On from Off. If those don't work try all the other commands except for the Power toggle on the OEM remote.

Thanks for the suggestion.
No other keys (like the Sky fix?) power on / power off, but here is the code
Power On
0000 0067 0000 0022 0152 00AC 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 044F
Power Off
0000 0067 0000 0022 0152 00AC 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 044F
On the IScan, I lifted the codes from a Pronto CCF file on the DVDO website, but they don't seem to work. If I lift the hex out of the CCF file in ProntoEdit, would this translate into a Pronto NG hex code?

Try these for the Pioneer:
Device Code: 170 Function: 26 -- On 0000 0068 0000 0022 0168 00B4 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 06D9 Device Code: 170 Function: 27 -- Off 0000 0068 0000 0022 0168 00B4 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 06D9
Both commands you posted were Pioneer:170:28 and that (function 28) is the typical power toggle and as you can see, On is Pioneer:170:26 and Off is Pioneer:170:27. Those were in a fiile for a PDP 503CMX but while the device code changes depending on whether it is a TV, DVD, Receiver, etc., the function numbers for On, Off and Toggle are usually 26, 27 and 28. Pioneer TV's and RPTV's also use device code 170, so IF it responds to discrete power commands those are the most likely.
AFAIK, the ProntoNG's can accept Pronto hex in Pronto edit. They can also import ccf files from the legacy Pronto. They actually store the commands differently, and some unusual IR commands are not translated correctly, but for the most part it seems to work well. You may see it "convert" Pioneer commands into a short format that starts with 90xx and that is OK. As I'm sure you understand only paste in the hex words starting with 0000 through 06D9 for the commands I posted.

Thanks again - I shall try these over the Easter weekend.
I am keen to get the IScan discretes working correctly as they allow me to go directly to a range of screen resolutions / picture formats.
Thanks also for the teach-in on the meaning of some of the commands - the mud haze is starting to clear, but only slowly!

What codes do you need from the iScan? They (DVDO) had a CCF on the website with most codes in it. ON and Off ain't one of them thou :(

Wow - that is a bit of a body blow and then some. May God bless his soul - it looks as if was a man who touched many lives and improved the lot of those he helped - a fitting eulogy for anyone.
Thanks for the pointer on the Iscan stuff - I picked up the CCF on the DVDO site, hence my comments on the ability to port into the Pronto NG. The key for me is to find the on / off though so that I can build up the macros and the settings screens.
