Hello,

I found 2 discrete codes for Humax in the discrete section, but they dont work on the PDR 9700 and NA FOX PR, anyone having power on/off codes for those devices?

Thank you in advance

I do not have the discretes, however could you post the power toggle and we can see if they have changed their code set or perhaps the unit just doesn't respond.

Hello dwg,

this one is the power toggle from the pdr as learned by the pronto:

0000 006c 0022 0002 0155 00ac 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 0728 0155 0056 0016 0e59

and this one is from the pr fox also as learned from the pronto:

0000 006d 0022 0002 0155 00ab 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0014 0016 0014 0016 0014 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 003f 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0014 0016 0014 0016 0014 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 071d 0155 0055 0016 0e42

Power toggle from the pdr is NEC1 protocol, device 0, subdevice 23, command 0.

Power toggle from the pr fox is NEC1 protocol, device 0, subdevice 16, command 0.

Power Off from the discrete section is NEC1 protocol, device 0, subdevice 48, command 128.

Power On from the discrete section is NEC1 protocol, device 0, subdevice 48, command 3.

As the subdevice seems to vary by model, you wouldn't expect the discrete IR signals (nor any others) to be compatible across those model boundaries.

But if the function number is consistent across models you might be able to take the subdevice number from one model with the command from another. Those four combinbations are:

Device Code: 0.23 Function: 3 (maybe On for the pdr)

Hi Johnsfine,

thank you so much, it works :-).

Best regards
Laki

P.S. maybe someone could help with those as well:

KEF Instant Theatre On as learned from Pronto:

900a 006d 0000 0001 807f 02fd

AudioNET MAP ON as learned from Pronto:

0000 006e 0000 000b 0022 001f 0042 003e 0042 001e 0022 001e 0022 001e 0022 001e 0022 001e 0023 003d 0022 001e 0042 001e 0022 0c75

Thanks in advance

That was fast testing.

For the benefit of any other Humax users finding this thread later, could you be more specific about WHAT works. (I gave you two possible discretes for each of two different devices. Did all four work?)

In that context, what is an "NA FOX PR"? After I replied I did a scan of my library for other devices that have the same power toggle you gave for that device. I found several models of Humax DSS receivers. None of those had discrete codes listed and most of them had command 3 (the "maybe discrete On" I gave you) listed as the digit '1'. Does this device simply turn on whenever you press a digit?

I also did a scan for the other power toggle you posted and found nothing matching.

Hi Johnsfine,

all of them work, I mean, they switch the devices on and off as expected. Yes the PR does turn on also wehn you press a digit.

Both HUMAX's are Satellite Receivers I think they are specific Models here for Europe which include special Software to PREMIERE (which is pay TV).
The PDR 9700 includes Harddisk Recording, and the NA FOX PR is just a normal Satellite Receiver.

Thanks again
Laki

Now I assume that the discrete On commands I gave you are simply the '1' digits for each of those devices.

So if you press that with the device Off it turns On. But if you press it with the device already On it will be a '1'.

I'm sure that can be used in macros as a Discrete On, but needs a little more care than a pure discrete On would need. In case the device was already on you need to account for the fact that you've sent it a digit you didn't particularly want to send it.

Hopefully the discrete Off is a purer discrete Off.

Remember, I've never seen any of these devices and I'm just guessing everything based on posts and CCF files from RC.

I'm not sure what help you want. Do you really mean that command is the "On" command? or did you mean it's the power toggle.

I did my usual search of my IR library for that command. It is the eject command for two DVD players (Daewoo DVD-5700 and Grundig GDV-130). It is the uparrow command for two other DVD players where the brand and model is unclear in the CCF (I think those are really PC IR receivers with software on a PC to make it's DVD drive function as a DVD player).

None of that has an obvious connection to what you're looking for (whatever that is).

AudioNET MAP ON as learned from Pronto:

0000 006e 0000 000b 0022 001f 0042 003e 0042 001e
0022 001e 0022 001e 0022 001e 0022 001e 0023 003d
0022 001e 0042 001e 0022 0c75

That one is RC5 protocol, device 16, command 12. It would probably work better if translated to condensed Pronto Hex beginning with "5000".

Command 12 is very consistently used in RC5 protocol as the power toggle. But there isn't as much consistency in RC5 discrete power commands.

The Marantz receivers that use that command as a power toggle are pretty consistent about using the related RC5x commands as power discretes. But I don't see anything for what other brands with the same power toggle have for discretes.

Hi again,

yes the Commands I posted from the KEF KIT 100 which is an DVD/Sourround Solution([Link: kefinstanttheatre.com]) and the AudioNET MAP which is an Preamplifier ([Link: audionet.de] the toggle power commands which were learned by my Pronto, what I'm looking for are the discretes for Power On and Power Off.

Hi,

I got a brand-new Humax PDR 9700C (Europe) and all above codes won't work for OFF/ON. Is there any newer discrete code available for this model?

Thanks

Look at posts 2 and 3 of this thread. The subdevice code inside the IR signal seems to be different for each model, but the command codes seem to be the same.

So if you can post the Pronto Hex for for some other signal (such as the learned power toggle) for your Humax, we can probably translate that to the discrete Off command.

If I understood what was said earlier in this thread, no one actually found any discrete On signal. Instead, they discovered that when the unit was off, any digit signal would turn it on, so with a certain amount of care for side effects, a digit could be used in macros in place of a discrete On.

Hi Johnsfine,

thanks for helping me out with this issue.

The Pronto Hex of the learned Humax' power toggle command is:

900A 006D 0000 0001 0217 00FF

I also had a mail correspondence with Humax Germany but they won't offer any IR codes for the used IR controller :( Of course they don't have an idea about any discrete code...

Thanks
Punga

For On and Off, try

900A 006D 0000 0001 0217 03FC

and

johnsfine,

you're my personal hero! The OFF-code works!

The ON-Code seems to be the code for digit '1' but that's ok with me, since a digit followed by a back-key works as ON-simulation quite ok :)

Again: You saved my day! Big thanks to you from germany :)

Have a nice weekend!
Cheers, Punga
