Who all is heading to Cedia this year?? Unfortunately we aren’t going but really wanted to go as it’s been a few years. I will be busy here as we are mid house purchase and get keys soon. I guess it’s time to put in all my gear that’s been in boxes for awhile now. Probably have a few hours pushing updates. Any of you going, plans to look at anything new or pick up some new lines?

There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far. |

Not going, I honestly dont see the point of Cedia anymore. Just spoke to a rep yesterday who felt the same way - I've been getting this feedback for years now from pretty much every rep. In the last year I've been to lightapoolaza (extremely eye opening), ISC west and Infocomm. Each of these turned out to be more useful to me than the last few Cedia's I've attended.

I'll be there. The value we get from the show these days is more derived from providing feedback to vendors about product improvements and the socialization with colleagues. I learn something valuable every time. This is the last year in Denver before we are forced into the Vegas/Orlando/Dallas rotation. None of those places sound appealing during early September.

If you think it's expensive to hire a pro, just wait until you hire an amateur. |

I will be going. Primary focus is projectors and video walls. I always love the different audio stuff as well. Short trip this year due to personal obligations. I will only go Wed and Thur to the show. So no classes or trainings this year, just 2 days on the showroom floor. We are meeting with one rep on Wednesday but no other meetings scheduled. I agree! I am not as excited about the upcoming Cedia locations.

Is “Installer Olympics” still a thing at CEDIA? The amp toss event was always entertaining.

I'm Not an engineer, but I play one on TV. My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird. |
