I just used an older set of these and they required a power supply at both ends in order to work.

I suppose the newer versions only require power at one end instead.

Kind of wondering when that came about, and do the ones with a single power supply work as well?

Ordered a Orei set on Amazon, that only came with a single power supply, and it didn't work at all, even with a premade cable they wouldn't link (sent it back).

Any other brands you've used that worked well and didn't break the bank?

J-Tech on Amazon.
Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God's side, for God is always right.

There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

I ordered an Orei set from Walmart.  It came with a power supply that has the insert for either US or overseas plugs.  Problem was they didn't include the inserts.  Luckily I had a whole other power supply that worked from a different extender that had died.  The Orei works perfectly for me.

Funny, the Orei didn't work at all

I dug through the boxes in the shop and found an extra power supply, so I had one on each end of the Binary units, and that worked.

Job is done except for the old Abus keypads are dying, and I have no more in the old stock.
