Recent firmware update by Xfinity changed the IR to RF, now the MX 1400 can't talk to the box
Any idea how to return the DVR to IR? Model number XG1v4

As far as I know you have to unpair the RF remote.

Depends which remote you have but typically yes 981 is what you want to reset / unpair.
