Is there some shortcut to get to the off air channels?

I mean the actual off air channels and not the "live TV" which is just streaming crap.

I was given the TV which works well, but after scanning for off air, there doesn't seem to be an easy way getting to them.

In settings

-TV Inputs
-Live TV
-Set up live tv
-Antenna should be an option

This should make the "Live TV" app tile go to antenna

You would think.

I go to that link, and it gives a "No signal".

I then go back into settings and find the link there, and after using the left button, it finally brings up the off air guide.

I would think the first thing the remote would do it bring up the offair guide, but noooooo.

It's just irritating...

What TV brand and model is it? The shortcut varies a lot depending on the manufacturer. On most sets there's either a dedicated input/source button that lets you select the antenna tuner directly, or you can set the default startup input in the settings menu so it boots straight to antenna every time. Some remotes also have a dedicated TV or ANT button. Let us know the model and someone here can probably give you the exact steps.

I heard TCL is teaming up with Sony

TCL will have a 51% share to Sony's 49, so China now owns and runs and will probably build all Sony gear.

Not ALL Sony gear, just TVs when it comes to TCL.

Sony is a vast empire of many different divisions. Over the last decade or 2 they have been selling off and outsourcing a lot of stuff. But they still have a massive catalog of things that are theirs.

Also, while TCL has 51% ownership of the new venture, Sony has one more seat on the board than TCL.  Additionally, Sony will retain all engineering and will retain their current manufacturing facilities.

I can't believe how low the prices for TV's has become. Where's the profit?

With AI design and automated production, costs are lower. Also, with more powerful IC’s the parts count is tumbling. With all inclusive chips, there is less copy protection monkey business as signals move from chip to chip. Also, I wonder if TV manufacturers are benefiting from monthly fees associated with using included online services. Maybe it’s becoming similar to printers, the printer is cheap, toner and ink are not.
