Yamaha RX-V385:
Remote Control: Comes with a remote control, and you can also use the Yamaha AV Controller app to control it remotely via your smartphone. Features: Provides 5.1 channels and supports multiple audio sources, easily connects to tower speakers. It is capable of playing audio from multiple devices. Size: Not too big, can be easily hidden in shelves or cabinets.

Should have worded my question better. Will the Appletv through HDMI control work the Yamaha? Just on/off and volume.

Do you know what broke? I use lots of Roku, Samsung TV, Sonos amp combinations. Yesterday the customer had his Apple TVs, and in The master bedroom, the TV sound is working fine through ARC, but if you turn off the television and try to play some music through Sonos, the TV turns on and Apple TV is displayed. It's leading me to believe the Apple TV is goofing us up.

Do you know what broke? Wouldn't pass any control to/from appleTV, It did only affect specific models (I believe first gen 4k ATVs) I use lots of Roku, Samsung TV, Sonos amp combinations. Let's say that they watch the Apple TV and are all done, turn off the stream, turn off the TV. Then bring up some music on Sonos, and at random, the TV turns on. It is on the Apple TV input of course, and the Apple screensaver is showing. Is there any other way to do this?

I keep CEC blockers close at hand. You sometimes trade one irksome control characteristic for another, but the blocker usually prevents unwanted power up and input selection.

So in this case… I suppose the TV is triggering the television to turn on with CEC. So install a CEC blocker between the Apple TV and the Samsung television. Then the TV volume through ARC fails to work? Or is that fully independent of CEC? I am trusting the AppleTV remote to make the Sonos AMP volume ramp up.
