Sonos has in wall and in ceiling options as well.

Sure they partnered with Sonance for some Sonos branded speakers. Whoopty do.

It makes zero sense to do anything wireless when the cabling can be installed.

Sure, if it was an existing house and you want to be lazy and not run wiring, go for it.

Many more options for wired vs. wireless.

I can imagine the builder rolling his eyes -- "isn't everything is wireless now?".

I heard "But I thought...." a few years ago when I was working on a home that isn't really conducive to WiFi. The carpenter said it and i told him he'd heard wrong, then explained what was wrong and why. I didn't act like a dik, just wanted him to understand.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

I don’t get your complaint. No one is lazy, you prewire for in-wall and in-ceiling.  Put in whatever you want.  Sonos is one option.  How are we on a wireless thought pattern? Sonos in wall needs prewiring.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Going to the display should be conduit and then you can change as needed. If you want a passive sound bar you can run speaker wires. If you use an active soundbar then you only need the HDMI. I'd run 2 Cat6 anyway to the TV. Anything to a display should be conduit, 2" preferred.

Except for in ceiling and in wall speakers the conduit allows you to make some of the decisions later and focus on the theater.

I have done quite a few James soundbars now and nothing I've heard compares to their sound quality from a small (ish) box.
Your choice of LCR, LR or just a center (I've done them all).  Their quad tweeter array is one of the best in the business and available in Beryllium if you want to pay for it.
If you have 10" of height to work with, get the one with 6-8" woofers and 12 tweeters built to the width of your display.
Yes it rocks....
Yes it's expensive....

Daniel,

I would plan for a Passive soundbar from Leon or Artison (or your speaker brand of choice), a pair of in-ceilings for the rears and a sub to fit nicely somewhere within the room.

Once you have moved in you can decided how you want to finish the room but at least getting the wiring in place now will give you options later and will save the fight of trying to get wires into the vaulted ceiling once insulated and drywalled.
You can't fix stupid
