A house I am working at has the multi switch currently on the third floor, and the first floor, on the exact opposite end of the house, is getting remodeled. The run for 5 new drops would be considerable in length, not even considering the problem of getting through two finished walls.

Is it possible to make a single run, that would feed a secondary multi switch, or is that not technically possible?

Note to start, I do not install Directv but i deal with it alot-

it will depend on what's installed now-

if you have an old 4-wire Multiswitch and 4 wires going to the LNB you can replace the LNB with a swm13 LNB which only needs 1 feed, then use a two splitter to feed the original STBs on a splitter at the original distribution point on one leg and then use the existing line over to feed another splitter to feed the new boxes at the other.

as the name implies, you are limited to 13 STB total in the system..

OR
I could be completly wrong

The current dish has a single feed to the multi switch, so it sounds as though there is a chance. The two way split you described, is that a standard Comcast style splitter, or is it specialized DirecTV gadget?

That is a different High Frequency splitter
A standard “cable splitter” will not work

We need to know the model number of the splitter to go any further with this.

Consider putting up two dishes. DTV doesn't care how many dishes you have -- you just have to get dishes made for the number of places you want to serve. I have a client in Arizona with two systems, that is, accounts. One is in the barn. The other has a dish on the hotel, a dish on the main house, and a dish on the double wide. Yes, that last sentence is three dishes on one account. And the second system used to also have a dish and a receiver in the bar. These are a residential system.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

SL3 LNB
SWM LNB

But neither DirecTV, nor Solid Signal were able to tell me if we can use a splitter. The device that I took for a multi switch, they said it is only a splitter, and apparently the multiswitch must be on the Dish itself.

"a splitter" will never get you anywhere in a technical discussion. You need to ask whether there's a device that does this and such or that and the other, or you need to ask what a particular model number does.

About four years ago I had a client whose house had been flipped. The flippers had cut the CAT wiring too short to use. Sonora (or Holland, can't remember which) had a guy who worked out how to deliver satellite and internet using an RG6 backbone. The house now has 8 DirecTV receivers and internet to 6 (IIRC) locations.

By the way, when you have a problem like this, it's of more value to name the solution you're looking for, as in "how do I _____?" than to ask how to implement some particular solution. I don't think you'd get the answer to your question if we answered only what you asked, instead of switching over to "this is how to do what you want."

your Main DVR or Genie will power the LNB in the dish. the rest of the system is essentially Moca, So as long as the Splitters are 2500Mhz moca compliant, should be fine.

Or just make the extra box wireless.
