Stirring up this old pot. I have dozens and dozens of these Ultras out in the field and they have been very good. A few recently are giving occasional black or blue screen problems.
Brent informs me that the Roku is getting incorrect information, downstream, and popping into a video mode, higher than the downstream components can manage.
First inclination was for me to get a 1080P HDMI in-line emulator for a particular system with a 1080P plasma. Unsuccessful so far, but still working on solutions.
I may have more info later…

I thought there were a couple resolution options on the Roku Ultras now, not just "Auto". IIRC there were 2 or 3 options for 4k resolution / HDR etc. Maybe dumb it down a bit?

Yeah, I see Auto, 4K Dolby Vision, 4K HDR, 4K, 1080p, 720p. And then you can turn framerate matching on or off.
I’ve noticed some annoying things with Auto digital output. Basically, anything with a stereo source gets encapsulated as left/right in a 5.1 Dolby Digital signal, preventing any ProLogic processing and sending dialogue to left/right instead of center. Changing from Auto to Passthrough fixes this. This issue is instantly noticeable with the menu click sounds - they either come from left/right or center depending on which is chosen.

What could go wrong! lol lol With clients now, I call these issues the install after the install.

I have one blue screen Roku client waking the Roku by pressing the HOME button, pausing, then turning on the TV, and success so far. I may incorporate that in macros next.
I had already changed from Auto resolution to a fixed mode and it did not help.
