Use Roku Ultra exclusively with Denon/Marantz - never had an issue.

Had an issue on one job with a Yamaha AVR and I believe a AV Pro Edge extender.  Changing the Roku to a different HDMI port on the AVR fixed the issue and its been fine for the past year.  Due to time constraints on the install day, I didn't have much time to dive in and figure out why it didn't work not he initial HDMI Port.  Once I had a picture and everything was working I had to leave it be, and its been fine since.

No issues on my personal Roku Ultra, Marantz AVR, old non-HDR Sony 4K TV. Had bad compatibility issues with a Fire TV Cube, though.

Daniel you're still in Canada, right? Do you have Roku ultras with remote with 1 & 2 keys? There were some from Canadians on the Roku community that said those keys no work for them? This started last year hadn't heard anything a until few in the last week showed with same trouble. About that same time all Roku in US no longer responded to IR commands of the 1 & 2 keys. With UEI made remote you used to have three keys you could program.

Re: Yamaha AVR's...
4K Mode 1 = up to 18Gbps through-put
4K Mode 2 = up to 10Gbps through-put
So basically, if it works on Mode 2 only, then you have a bandwidth issue in your cabling.
The new amps have an 8K mode if you update the firmware (24Gbps on the RXV4A/RXV6A and RXA2A and 40Gbps on the RXA4A/RXA6A/RXA8A).

On more recent Yamaha's you can change the HDCP version (1.4 or auto (up to HDCP 2.3)) per input.

Also, with the Yamaha RXV6A and RXA2A the first three inputs are 24Gbps, with 4 x 18Gbps from port 4-7.
This industry is not getting cheaper and cheaper, we're simply convincing ourselves that we have to push the cheapest option to customers.

Yes, I'm in Canada, but they don't officially sell Ultras up here anymore (just Stick and Express), so I ordered my Ultra from the US.

Thanks Daniel.

Those with Roku's like Ultra and use av receiver volume instead of the tv. And still want to use the Roku remote, there is secret menu to switch the Roku remote from controlling only tv's to av receivers and soundbars.

press the Home key 5 times, then RW once, Play once, FF once, PLAY once, and RW once, then go to RF remote menu option. IR transmit menu, querying avr's (instead of tvs)

Now when you go to program the tv:

settings> remote & devices> remote> remote in USE> program tv> choose to change brand. now audio brands are listed

I’ve actually switched my Ultra to IR-only so I could disable the wifi broadcast network it uses for the voice remote. That was actually more of a challenge than expected, as the IR codes transmitted by the voice remote when it’s in IR mode are actually incapable of doing this, and it took a while to figure out why it wouldn’t work.

Have you tried using an extender 'not' from Snap?

I have never had a problem using AVPro, Metra, or even J-Tech extenders. The last problems I did have, was years ago using a few Snap extenders. No problems since I stop using their stuff.

I did have a defective Yamaha receiver that worked but couldn't get a signal thru a 2nd device to display. Swapped the Yammy and all was fine. Seems Yamaha has been using low-binned parts since the shortages. Seeing a lot of issues popup with their receivers these days. Add to the fact they supply inventory to big boxes first, leaving nothing left for the CI channel and I'm just about done recommending Yamaha anymore.

That was pretty intuitive
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.
