I've actually gone through this!!
Clueless instructors messing with the equipment and blowing up my phone because it is an emergency at 6:30am. Special event and given an hours notice to please come "fix" the system. I've dropped in on their two locations so much I offered them a service plan and they said since they paid so much money and it never worked right why should they pay.
I stopped responding.

Update
Last Thursday I told him you bought the mic it didn't work. I got you a guy to come last Saturday to bring a new mic. It didn't work. Find your own mic guy.
The gym owner calls me from a random number so I would pick up. Asks can we have a sit down and work thru the problem. I said yes. I will be there tomorrow at 10am.
1 hour later calls me mad. He loses his temper. I said you have 2 options.
1. I come take my gear and send you a check for what you gave me next week.
2. You understand I charged you to install a dsp and 2 vol controls. Understand another company will charge way more and take the remaining $500 you owe me and get someone else.
I get a text I hired someone else. It works fine. He charged me $400. Which means he saved at least $100. But is now ask me to pay that guys bill. When he still owes me $500.
