Last week i saw some huge basketball sized Hikvision PTZ cameras going in. I feel sorry for the security company because i know the client will say they are too big/too easy to see but thats another topic.
These things reminded me of the drones that mop up after an alien invasion. Lets build Camera poles that act as bases for drones. The drones could have 3 functions.
1.Function like normal ptz from base. 2.Manual control of drone local or remotely via app. 3.Automated property flyover. So instead of having a security guard make the rounds of a large property the drones could fly a specific pattern every hour or whatever. Later when the technology gets smarter we can have the drones deviate from the programmed path (and call for backup) if they see something fishy.
Eventually we could partner with an arms dealer and an AI specialist and produce an awesome security product!

I wonder how it works with drone flights for things like Amazon. FAA rules are that a UAV cannot fly outside the view of it's pilot (must have line of site). Would come into question with your idea. It's a cool idea though, automated aerial view via scheduled unmanned flyovers.
Yes, and there's that little detail of Newton's Third Law.
It needs face recognition and an ID chip reader. And, the chips need to be a little smarter as a control against being embedded in the wrong or a non living body.
Speaking of little details, there's also the drone that makes it back to its perch and then needs service. These poles that they live on have to be strong enough to support a ladder that a person can climb to retrieve a drone that's stuck in its nest.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything. "The biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place." -- G. “Bernie” Shaw

Um...i dont think we need to reinvent the wheel on that one....

The initial roll out will be products sold to private citizens/companies and used on private property. By the time we get the weapons added the government will be cutting the FAA budget so they can buy our product.

I am pretty sure this is available already, minus the lasers and bullets. I swear I saw an ad for a property patrol drone that had a perch, and did scheduled programmed fly overs, etc. I cannot remember where, or who made it though. I will start searching google, and the ad will pop up again on my facebook page or somewhere else. Sometimes it is ok that they are capturing all my data. :)

Well, if it doesn't have lasers and bullets, it's not really "available', is it, hmmmmm??????? :D
