I have power on , off and input toggle codes for Sony VPL-VW665ES working but cant get HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 to work with a URC MX-990. I have tried URC database and Sony Database. Tried changing repeats, etc.. Does anyone have HEX codes that are tested ?

What a stupid product. Introduced at $15,000, its remote toggles brings up a screen where you cursor around to get to the input you want.

It sounds like it's time to get into the details of things.

There's a company named Total Control Remotes... or something like that... who could take the commands you have and could generate the rest of the set of 255 commands. Actually, several people in the Pronto Forum could do that.

Then you could test those commands, with the possible danger that some button might put you into a service mode you can't get out of.

If you go to the Pronto Forum and ask for help, I'm sure you'll get it, but this looks like an uphill battle.

A last idea, maybe a bad one, is that you might be able to make a set of macros; let's say HDMI 1 is:
INPUT
Down
Down
Select

This involves a guess that each time you push INPUT, exactly the same screen comes up, with the cursor in the same position. (The manual notes that if "Status" is set to OFF, this works differently.)

Wow, and best of luck.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Did you try these?

You'd think a 15k projector might warrant a remote that does IP or even RS-232 control...

Actually, there is a URC MSC-400 in the system with the MX-990 and I have tried RS-232 and no go either. Guys, just to be clear, I have been a ci since before the term existed. Ive been programming longer than most. Just asking if someone has run into this problem with this projector before. Ive never had an issue with discrete commands on any Sony product. Ive tried bypassing the MSC-400 and using putty to send 232 commands from my pc with same result. I dont care if I use 232 or IR at this point.

We have the 365. I believe discrete codes are there in C4 and Elan, but I will check tomorrow. Surely Sony used the same codes on the 665.

There discrete definitely are codes for them. I have zero issues switching inputs with my control4 system.

All of the Sony projectors pretty much use the same code so the code from the 365 should work just fine.

RS232 and IP control definitely work for these models. We use them all the time.

That has nothing to do with IR commands.

Good grief. Read the thread.
