I order the TKP100 custom buttons from Brayden in Feb. He sent me tracking, and it was signed by someone who doesn't work at my store. I fought with USPS and they said they delivered it to me. I moved it to the back burner and ended up forgetting about it. I go to my office mailbox on the outside of my building today and there is a small bubble wrap package that looks like it has been through the war. I open it up and its my buttons from dash. How does USPS expect me to run my business like this. What a joke.

Years ago UPS delivered 15k worth of my gear to a hair salon in Strassberg IL. Unfortunately, I live in Michigan...So you can see the problem.

What was the fix?  I ended up having to rent a uhaul, drive to Toledo OH, because otherwise, the delivery would've had to go to Atlanta first.

Ahh, the good ol' days.

Fortunately for me, the hair dressers didn't mess with anything at all.

You have had two unique experiences. The number of packages shipped properly by USPS would give some perspective.

We once shipped some backup theater chair parts (extra cup holders) to an overseas client. We sent the parts to our client's rep in the US. The package was labeled LOW PRIORITY in 1" letters. The client's rep chose the shipping company to be used, DHL, I think.

When we got the package a day later, we also got a complaint from the client that we had spent $800 on an overnight package... how dare we choose to ship that way?

Things get screwed up all the time. That's life on this planet.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

A year or so ago I got something shipped to me via the smart post. Estimated delivery was to take 8 days....it took 66 days.

It came within 5 miles of my home, 4 times. It was literally sent to all corners of the US and by the time I got my package the box was ligterly heals together by threads. Of course the order was damaged.

It amazes me how bad the USPS can be, not even with packages...the mail sucks too!

Hell, they all do this sort of thing.

Nothing like coming home and finding a 5k piece of equipment sitting by the garage door getting soaked during a huge rainstorm..

Or better yet, finding the package with some really nice and expensive equipment sitting out at the end of the 700' driveway in a snow pile, where it got run over by the trash company truck.

Years ago we had an order for RS-232 cables. We called AMP and ordered 100 pins for the connectors and we ordered them overnight freight from FedEx. The next morning we got two overnight packages. In one box was 96 pins from a warehouse in Texas. In another box was 4 pins from a warehouse in California. We got billed for two overnight shipping charges from AMP.
If you are going to do the job...why not do it the right way?

I wonder what the percentage of fubar deliveries is vs. "as promised" deliveries. My guess is pretty low. But as with anything else, the internet is rife with people complaining and not with people sharing when things just go as expected.

We should start a thread where everyone posts when they receive a shipment without any issues.

About half of the USPS shipments to us require some sort of time wasting special handling. Most of our manufacturers have a specific instruction -- "Do not use USPS".

I agree, if the survey is Fed Ex, UPS, etc. Throw USPS in there and it gets a bit skewed.

That said. I dont recall one single issue in the last year. Hmm, come to think about it, even with USPS. But who the hell uses that? Oh, Amazon. My only complaint, today, the USPS is crappyazz tracking and taking too long.

True. But, when that delivery is something specific, and it's needed now, it is cause for complaining.

Back in the days of RPTV's I was set up direct with Sharp (and others). Had a special order for a client. It was shipped right out and I received when I should.

Only one problem.

It was the wrong model and the client wasn't about to downgrade.

Only good part is that I got a substantial discount on that particular TV, and the correct model was sent next day.

Worst case ever was not a shipping deal, but a manufacturer FU.

Sent a wire transfer of 10K and they lost it, so they didn't ship out the order.

Finally did find it after my proving it was sent, and they sent some really heavy stuff next day. No doubt losing their azz on the deal.
