We recently finished a system for a NASCAR driver. 8x Episode 6" 70v landscape speakers & 1x 12" 8ohm burial sub. The wire run for the sub is almost 200' and is 12/2. The sub sounds great, now that we finally figured out that the crossover on the correct DSP preset on the CDi2000 was set at 1,200 Hz from the factory!!!

It's always helpful once you've found a problem to state what the solution was.

The 1,200hz preset was the way the Amp came or that was in the ST6_SB12 DSP preset for the 12" sub in ch1 & 6" sats on ch 2? I was onsite yesterday and was just running some doubled up 12" from the rack to the panel I have on the inside, which contains the TPD Speaker Surge Module before the wires exit to the exterior. However, the terminals can't handle the thickness of the doubled up 12ga.

It was in the ST6_SB12 DSP preset. Ernie, I'll have to ask rr61522 what he changed it to, but i think we ended up at 90 Hz

Rethink that "resistance losses are the square of the current" Then read the last sentence in that paragraph!

Rethink that "resistance losses are the square of the current" Then read the last sentence in that paragraph! I'm all for critiquing what I wrote, but.... I rethought it, and I should have said "resistance losses are directly proportional to the square of the current," which is pretty much the same thing; and If you want me to critique my writing, please at least quote it or point out which post you're referring to. Thanks.

It should read "POWER losses are proportional to the square of the current." I'm not interested in the grammar at this point.
