Curious what others are doing or not doing for surge suppression on outdoor speaker wiring runs, especially Landscape systems. I had previously used the Panamax piece on 8ohm installs but that model isn't for 70v systems.

Bury the speaker wires and keep the speakers down low? Are you worried about lightning, or ? ? ?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

How does burying the speaker wires help? Long speaker runs are antennas and will pick up a huge amount of energy from nearby strikes.
Ask any electric pet fence owner about long wire runs in the ground and lighting strikes :)

So I got the transient speaker modules for 1000w for the cdi1000. Now I need to double up the 12ga wire, due to distance to the subs. Doubled up 12ga doesn't fit in the screw down terminals.

The Transient is like a screw down phoenix connector type terminal.

Thought about a short pig tail of just single 12ga in the terminals of the Transient to doubled up 12ga wire. Not sure if this short piece would affect resistance/power loss though.

Not sure if those will work. The diam of the ferrule for 2x12ga I think is wider the opening for the wire. Plus, the length of the ferrule is approx 1/2" and it's more like 1/4"or less of wire length into the opening.

Here is a pic off their website.
