Guys,

I'm putting in a full blown system in for a customer of mine in their training room. There are 3 rooms separated by the divisible wall system, so 2 walls.

I was planning on using door contacts for these walls so that when they close or open, rooms will either combine or become individual for control.

The problem I'm having is that they already installed the wall system and I'm being brought in late in the game.

The GC was telling me that they installed a large I-beam up towards the decking, then used a unistrut system to hang the large metal plate and track for the wall system. Then they framed around using metal studs and Sheetrock.

I'm afraid that I won't have the usually closeness needed for regular door contacts. Does anyone know of door contacts that provide a pretty forgiving space gap and don't look like pooh?

Garage door contacts is all I can think of but they're fugly.

Thanks for any info

I've seen infrared beam kits used to tell if wall is installed or not.

We use these all the time in board rooms.

Use a proximity sensor for best results.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Do the Lutrons work stand alone, meaning just buy the kit and power it up?

The other problem I'm seeing is that the track for the wall hangs down about 8" below the drop ceiling, so anything flush mounted to the ceiling will most likely not work.

As of now, I only have a shielded 22/2 and a spare CaT6 cable available. Trying not to run more wiring (ceilings are a pain and also all closed up).
