Hello,
I currently have a Denon AVR-1907 receiver, which I am trying to program into my mx-900 universal remote. However when i am looking through the IR database, the reciever is not an option as a code. I know the code is 649 for the receiver, but when i type it in, the highest the code will go for me is 624.

Any help would be appreciated!

I just tested in CCP and the Denon 1907 is listed.
I've paid for my sins. We're even!

Try few of the Denon codesets you do have available.
Chances are that multiple versions will work.

URC's database is missing a lot of common models- it's one of the reasons I don't like using their remotes and there's no guarantee the customer will have the remote once they get their fancy new URC. Like the one I'm working on now- since I have a Harmony, I was able to enter the model and add it to my existing test configuration and I'll be able to teach the commands to the URC.

At all of the training sessions, URC tells us they have more models in their database than anyone else. I'd like them to change that. They should tell us about the number of USEFUL code sets they have.

Since Denon does not change their code set but once every blue moon, all you have to do is use a similar model and you are golden. You don't need every single model number listed. It is a workable database. No database is perfect.

I was updating a customers MX980 last night, and the original installer used a Sony Blu-ray codeset that did not have discrete on and off. He put variables in the programming to track the power. I simply used the on and off functions from a different Blu-ray codeset and was done. You have to work with these no matter what you do.

I have also done RTI. Many people rave about the RTI codeset. It is partly user generated, and personally I dislike it because it has so many small fragments. Sometimes you open a certain model and it has one code in it or three codes in it.

The moral of the story is, every brand you use, you will have to work with it a bit.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Thanks for the info , but I was searching through the web and found a guy who left a download link to his remote through the mx900 editor and somehow managed to put in the receiver that I needed and I have no idea how he did it

In theory, yes, but when I try a lot of the "usable" code sets, they have commands that aren't shown on the device or the OEM remote.

He created a device file for that Denon receiver with all the codes. It can be then 'imported' in your MX-900 file and used however you like.

It's a lot of trouble. Like everyone is telling you, the codes are there! It does NOT have to be the exact same model number as your receiver. Just pick one that is the same year or similar.... the codes are the SAME!!!
