I have a new client that just bought a used home. The previous owner took their amplifier with them that powered the pool speakers. (There are 4 TIC in ground speakers....2 per channel.) The problem is there is barely any room in the "kitchen cabinet" style entertainment center where the speaker wires terminate. There is only a depth of 9-10 inches. I have found a Pyle on Amazon that might fit, but I'm concerned about quality. Customer is tight on money now, so he doesn't want to go high end, either. Customer said he just wants to plug in his smart phone and play music from there. However, I am guessing his wife will be upset if there is no radio available. A receiver would be a good option. Customer wants conventional volume control on front panel. He wants to avoid anything networked at this time. Does anyone have any suggestions? It would need to be an amp capable of handling a 4 ohm load.

I came into this game for the action, the excitement. Go anywhere, travel light, get in, get out, wherever there's AV trouble, a man alone. |

...gotta be a type. 87 inches wont fit in any cabinet :). Manual says: Approx. 290 mm × 106 mm × 221 mm (incl. projecting parts) So: 11.42" w x 4.17" h x 8.70" d Basically looks like they put the decimal in the wrong spot.

PatMac said in his post: Unit must have a conventional volume control on front panel. Avoid anything networked at this time. Everything you guys are throwing out there, is the exact opposite of what he asked for. I will assume he already had the conversation with the customer, on what would be the best option to put in - and the customer declined. And insisted on this. FunHouse Texas is the only one that gave exactly what he asked for. The problem with the Sony is it doesn't have any power and this is going to be on outdoor speakers. I calculated 10w RMS x2, going by the spec sheets and UL rated power consumption. So it has about the power of an A-Bus system. Other consideration that does fit the criteria, much more power, but less features & absent of sources: [Link: parts-express.com]
