Do any of you have a preference as far as the type of trimless/magnetic speaker grill? Some brands, the grill fits into the outer portion of the grill, while others cover the whole speaker. KEF and Episode fit into the outer portion, while Monitor Audio and Sonance cover the whole speaker. For painting purposes, I suppose the type that covers the whole speaker would be preferred. Is one style more prone to falling off than the other?

Everytime I go into a house with builder spec speakers, I find Proficient. I think the cheap ass paper speakers from old cars sound way better. They are terrible.

All the new Episodes cover the speaker completely. Yes, makes painting easier. So am I missing your interpretation. Did you mean to say "the grill fits into the outer portion of the SPEAKER?" Old episodes did that. Not now.

Kef and episode have a thin bezel around the edge but they work just like those without bezels. The whole grill sticks via magnets.

Sonance has thin bezel also. They also have no bezel and they have a trufig style. And they also have "minimal opening" style speakers.

I like these Triads [Link: triadspeakers.com] Easy to install, sound good, not crazy expensive and no bezel magnet grills.

... no bezel magnet grills.

That is the term I was looking for.Ranger Home you are correct, Episode now has no bezel grills, it has been awhile since I used them. So anyone having issues with either style, as far as staying attached?

I think I had more trouble with, and had more concern about friction fit grills, then I do with the magnetic style.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

The only issue I've run into with magnetic grills was in older homes where the sheetrock ceiling wasn't perfectly flat. Caused the grill to teeter-totter on the speaker but it never fell off.
