We are having a heck of a time cracking the pin-out for Somfy shade control via the URTSI II connecting to a MC3.

Can anybody walk me through the connection?  We've tried with Somfy documentation, but we still can't get it controlled.

Could be me (for the first time) and I'm just missing something.

Thanks in advance!

Mac,

As simple as these stupid things seem, they're stupid difficult to work with. We worked with one a couple years back and it took about 40 hours and a ton of luck to get it working with RTI. This is our first one with Crestron and no matter what we do it just won't work! We used the document you've referenced.

We're going to give Cynic's document a go tomorrow to see where it gets us.

Thank you both!

If anyone has any other suggestions please let us know!

I know how painful the somfy shades are. I posted about it at IP. The one easy part was the urtsi unit we used for one shade that wasnt part of the 485 bus that the other 50 shades were on.

Before you waste too much more time i would try a second one in an attempt to rule out a defective urtsi.

A few quick comments
1. You cannot go into the URTSI RS-232 and come out RS-485.
2. Serial connection is rather simple
3. You are essentially calling groups. That requires shades to be configured to groups. Have the shades been configured and assigned to groups?
4. Only capable of 16 groups
5. Are URTSI setup correctly? I typically set each to 1, since it's 1:1
