Or borrow, whatever you like.
You know, RS232 to stereo mini plug. Plug is gold, which distinguishes it from the Pronto/Marantz cable (of which I have several!).
I removed all that stuff from my computer back in January before traveling and I'm having a hell of a time finding it!
I'm now in the Long Beach area; going to Sunset Plaza tomorrow; Orange County Wednesday; Mid-Wilshire Thursday and Friday.
Please email me or drop a message here if you can help. And thanks!

Stereo or TRRS? 3.5 mm TRRS to DB9, for URC? I don't know if this has the correct pinout, but it may be another option: [Link: snapav.com]I'd call Mike at Surf Remote, as Mac rec'd. Edit - Surf Remote is in San Clemente

It's just stereo.
The original Prontos actually shipped with TRRS cables, as that was what the designed called for at the time... but they changed it to work without the additional connector. Note that Pronto and URC cables have *opposite* TD/RD pinouts.

I can ship u one or you can drive 5 hrs north and pick it up!
Or you could make your own mini/mini adapter.

Take a pronto, and connect a nul modem adapter. That's what I figured out, just before falling asleep, would work. I wasn't 100% sure, so thanks. The funny thing is that I know where I've had a couple of null modem adaptors, in my connections box, for more than ten years. I've never used them. Thanks for the suggestions, everyone!

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! Do you, or someone you know, deal with Samsung commercial displays? They use the same cable for serial control.

Your newest computer actually has a serial port, or are you planning to use the older XP computer? The T420 has a VGA connector, not a serial port. I ran across an X-10 part that I never used. It's a little plastic box about 1" square with a male DB-9 in on one side and female on the other. After ten minutes with a soldering iron, it's now a null modem adaptor. I already have the Keyspan USA-19HS USB to serial adaptor, which has worked every time. Thanks for the answers.
