I think I'm looking to jump ship on HAI.

I'm seeking to see if anyone is willing to have a phone (interactive) conversation about products/technologies/devices from HAI that are compatible with C4.
In that case, my phone number is 505-321-2241

I have several HAI installations that I would like to upgrade/integrate into C4.

C4 tech support told me that they don't show any drivers for HAI, but that the dealer forum may have more information.
Contrary to his statement, I found information on web that states that security does integrate but not other things.
Unfortunately, until I become C4 dealer, I won't have access to those.

As a basis, I'm looking to understand if:
- HAI security ties seamlessly into C4 like DSC and Honeywell does (Brendon tells me it's a 15 second process on DSC with full view of all zones and total control of security).
- Expansion modules (17a00-x)
- Lighting control (UPB HLC)
- Thermostat control (RC80, RC90, RC1000, RC2000)

I never used/installed HAI myself but I can tell you that integrating it into C4 certainly works like a dream.

All of your bullet points are integrated through an IP based driver (at least for OmniPro II panels). Houselogix carries the driver.

Recently completed a project that had an OmniProII, full house of UPB lighting/keypads (around 30-40 loads I believe) and thermostat control (8 of them).

The only downside is that the driver is 3rd party and costs $ to activate the integration. But, overall, it is a cheap cost compared to what you get out of it.

I liked the fact that C4 treated the UPB lighting like it was its own. Meaning, using the remote control, you can select a light and then hit the number buttons for percentages on the lighting loads 1= 10%, 2= 20%, etc.).

One other thing, when first adding the driver, yes the C4 system does pull in all zone/sensor info and names (after adding a # sign in front of each name in HAI software) but do realize that you still have to add a C4 security object like door/window sensors, smokes, glass breaks, etc., and then bind the 2 together to get the expected feedback.

Thanks man.
I submitted my application -- hoping to hear from them soon.

I am.
I'm tired of half ass baked solutions between HAI and TC.
I'm tired of HAI delaying release of OmniPro3 for 4th year in a row.
I have to pay good money for HAI and another as much to TC.

It looks like with C4, all my logic is going to reside in the C4 controller and alarm panel -- almost any alarm panel (DSC, Vista, GE and yes, HAI) will be just an alarm panel.
With Total Control I couldn't do a LOT of things I wanted and it required the HAI to carry a large load.

I'm not dropping HAI completely, but I just can't see needing it for anything but commercial, non A/V type installations, where TVs nor A/V remotes are a good fit.

i moved away from HAI several years ago to C4. i have a few HAI installations out in the field. I use GE / UTC Concord 4 and C4 now.

I have 2 install with HAI and C4 integration. I use the serial connection with them and it works. very little issues. I use HAI for security and have doors and motions trigger events such as turning on lights.

One of my 2 installs was hit by lighting. This system has lighting control and thermostats. i am looking for a solution to connect the HAI UPB lighting to C4 without using a HAI panel. I don't care about the thermostats. does this exist?

I found this driver, [Link: houselogix.com] I think it will do what you are needing.

Yeap; that's the one I'm going to use.
I talked to people at houselogix and got detailed documentation.
This will integrate all of my lights, T-Stats, zones, expansion modules -- everything.

First, happy birthday Casey.
Second -- it's too late man! I talked to Brendon for like 2 hours today. He sucked me in -- I'm done and gone to the red side.

First, Thanks

Second, oh damn, I thought you were stronger than to be sucked in like that. Next thing you'll tell me, Brendon has convinced you to get married too. ;)

I've been married since before Brendon was alive.
Not to the same woman, but married none the less.
This one (2nd wife) has been putting up with me for 13 years, 8 months, 10 days.

Heck, I'm not very far behind you. And to your previous point, has Brendon been alive that long?

I'll bet c4 can talk to upb without hai. I use UPB and i have total control talk to upb. Fugg having hai do anything. its security. course, i have hai talk to upb for security automation blocks, doors/windows open etc.

Mario, what are you wanting hai and total control to do that you cant make happen? Native talking would be GREAT. In the meantime, I use outputs on HAI to tell TC what to do. Its not a cheap solution though so I am not seeing much value in HAI anymore, other than i have NEVER EVER had a service call on an HAI panel. EVER. They just plain work and are rock solid. And they should, at that price.
