I just brought this up because I want to give ammunition to people who complain about technical service: this BS is still happening.

As of yesterday, at least, they have a site that lets them share control. It's URChelp or something like that. Perhaps now that Team Viewer costs money, they decided to act like pros on that issue and get their own software.

Edit: I'm on the way back out there with the same computer to correct the programming on three MX50s. Wish me luck.

Just to be clear, I meant that I'm tired of hearing that comment from tech support people.

Turn off Windows Firewall and then reinstall CCP

Yep, good idea, didn't help. Michael at URC told me to do that. I suffered through the last necessary items of the MX-980 and managed to forget my USB to RS232 adaptor to update the 850s, so I don't know if they would have had problems, too.

One thing nobody has touched on is whether there might be some problem with the file that was in the remote when I got there. (I once had a Marantz RC5200 file that kept resetting itself to factory programming and nobody was ever able to figure that one out. It could be the remote or something squirrely in the file.)
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
