I can not purchase another Apple product. Will keep ipads laying around just as an RTI controller. Any recommendations on a new tablet for all the other uses. Not porn! Two ipads turned into worthless junk.

You CAN not? I think you mean you WILL not. :) I can relate. I say the same about Samsung. I am picky.

Now that Apple tablets are so thin, it takes two of them just to make a doorstop.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I dont quite understand why people get so upset over technology moving ahead.

I have a 1st gen iPad at home still. Its slow. It wont update past OS 5.1.1. But it does still work. It just wont run a bunch of current aps.

I have an original Samsung Galaxy Tab. Samsung stopped updating it long ago. I think its stuck on a Android 2.x OS. It wont run Savant or Current Control4 GUI's. I can browse the web and play a few games on it though.....

I have at least 2 laptops sitting in a corner collecting dust. They still Run. They are slow. They wont run the latest games, bt if I needed something to browse the internet with.. It would work.

I have a box of cell phones. Couple blackberries, Old motorola Atrix, A LG Optimus G. They have al been rendered obsolete.

I can certainly understand not liking apple Culture or their business model.... But to Think Android technology/Hardware doesnt get obsoleted is kinda silly.

I don't care about apps. Safari works horrible. Key board is unresponsive, even home button is slow, 10 other things. 6 month old mini out of memory with 30 pictures on it. Page needed to be reloaded constantly.

so use Chrome or Safari?

How is a home button slow? 30 pictures obviously doesnt fill up 10-12 gigs of space (Assuming you bought the 16gig model).

Page needs to be reloaded constantly? Not sure what that means...

Regardless... you can get an Ios, android, or Windows tablet at this point. Whether its a Samsung, LG, Microsoft, or some off brand import, It doesnt really make a different with what you are complaining about.

Chrome is no better
16 g mini
Page reload warning. On a page and it just reloads with that warning.
Hit home button and it will not go. 15 seconds sometimes. Only from a Web page.
Point is I have many devices in our house and I used to really like our Apple products. But they have become the worst operating devices. Nothing tying me to Apple so looking for another tablet

What model mini? Mini 2 & 3 are the same processor/etc from 2013 and its not surprising that they're showing some age. That being said, we support a ton of them for clients and internal use and have only recently started seeing some apps not supported by them (Crestron Pyng). If the newest model, you're seeing abnormal behavior.

If you fold it similar to a paper airplane, you can wedge it under a door.

Fold an iPad? Too much work. Just use the curved iPhone 6 Plus. More compact, and it creates a nicely contoured wedge shape. Perfect door stop. Folded iPad sounds more like a wheel chock idea to me. :P

You could always toss it into the spokes of a passing bicycle, if you know what I mean. Makes a nice V-shape.
