I need to run 750 feet of Cresnet to a boat house for some lighting control. I read in another thread that people have used a Liberty equivalent. The part number is LLINX-U-DB. Who distributes Liberty Cable here in Canada?

Note: Cable needs to be Direct Burial

I used Cresnet because the Liberty was more expensive here. Staub used to have an ICE Cresnet equivalent. Trends Electronics in Vancouver does liberty.

Could be, haven't used anything from Liberty in years.

Same here. When they went through cuts and sent everyone to work from their homes, they became a nightmare to deal with. Also their prices went insane.

I always use decent cables but don't even bother mentioning them in quotes. Theyre just part of the installation cost. To me it's pathetic to rely on selling expensive cables just because they add to the margin.

I just do web orders so I don't know about dealing with the reps - I never had a problem I had to call about.
But I didn't notice ANY price changes like you are hinting to, not in the 12+ years I've been dealing with them. Unless you are talking about the massive copper price increase many years ago. And that was everybody, not just Liberty.

Spoke to the Trends rep and they have not carried Liberty for a few years now.
I forgot to note in the thread that it needs to be direct burial

Seems like no one carries cresnet in direct burial. Would an 18/2 and a 22/2 shielded work at 750 feet?

A few day ago I got a price list from Sound Developments in Richmond, BC. So I believe they are the new Canadian distributer.

Do it with DB coax, media converters, and use the Ethernet to Cresnet bridge they just came out with. 2-for-1 deal on that one, you can use the Ethernet to give them WiFI at the boathouse too.
