Hi All,

I'm hoping that I can get someone to help me out. I was in the home theater business for almost a decade before transitioning to the IT world. Along the way, I had my parents set up with three MX-880's and things had been great.

That is until they decided to switch to UVerse recently and I realized I no longer had the CCP software. Is there anyone willing to give someone a bit of professional courtesy and send them the software.

I can assure you that I'm not someone who bought a remote off ebay and then realized I can't program it. Nor am I someone who is looking to do this for profit any longer....I'm simply trying to save my folks some money and change out a driver.

I am willing to pay for a working copy of the software if necessary.

Thanks in advance,

Dave

I'm the CCP prince, send $500 in the form of a money order to my palace in Africa there is a copy of software with your name on it and we have been trying to reach you! Once received and you tell me the software is working I'll refund you $10,000! Thanks for seeking us! :)

superdave,
you know what the policy is. You're asking us to violate it. You're asking for a dealer to be disreputable. Let me guess that you work for URC. Probably not, but how can we tell? Sorry. This is how it is. You know it.

People are available to do this work for you. Those are the people to seek out.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

The problem isn't him having the software, it's the very grey area with a dealer giving it to him. URC has many confusing answers to whether we can give a customer a copy of the software or not - and what the consequences are for the dealer if they do.

URC is free to give the customer the software if they want to and has done so on MANY occasions. Dave needs to contact URC and ask for the software.

I will be happy to PM you my linkedin profile if that helps. I was just hoping for a bit of professional courtesy but I understand your response.

Give URC a call and see what they can do for you. There is no reason for a dealer to risk their status with URC or their distributors.

I no longer sell individual applications. I have a monthly subscription club that gives members access to all AV software. Platinum members also receive direct tech support numbers for various products and a StampWarez t-shirt (only come in large).

Mac,
that sounds like a joke so elaborate that it's believable, so I'll respond with one of my own.

What do the manufacturers think of you essentially licensing access to their intellectual property, to which you have no claim?
