Next gen connection will be a gnarly looking bundle of 5 HDMI cables within a single jacket. It will be called Medusa. It will handle 256K resolutions at 16:16:16 SDHDR (super duper HDR), 10TB ethernet, and of course ARC. Duh. It will not fit in a 2" conduit so retrofit is going to be a HUGE money maker for us.

Rob is correct! I spoke with Raj at Yamaha tech support. They are confident this issue will be resolved with a firmware update very soon. He hopes by early April. Yamaha comes through again!

Hope it was the Yamaha.

I am rolling out my first end to end 4k/ HDCP 2.2 distro system in the next month or so. Racks are already built and cabled (with the same cables the OP is using)
Crestron DM with 3 of the Samsung 4K BRD players and a bunch of Samsung 4k tvs. Naturally, there are a bunch of non 4k, non 2.2 sources mixed in.

The exact same thing happened to me last night. Bypassing straight to the "TV" (i.e.One Connect Box) fixed it I think.

Similar setup has been a struggle so far. New DM firmware from Crestron the last 2 days, beware the output cards are not in a PUF format yet, and doing them individually is a serious time-suck.

Thanks for the heads up.

All Snap hdmi cables are 1.4. I use proflex and are hdcp 2.2 and work great! Get new cables

We just ran into the same issue. 50' B6 Snap HDMI...no worky with 4K. AVAD 50' HDMI...no problem.

Equipment was a Marantz SR6010, LG OLED and a Roku4.

Snap said their cables over 2M don't support 2.2.

Boooooooooooooooo!

Snap B6 HDMI specs say 34 AWG. I wonder if that's the answer.

c2tech,
The only Snap AV cables that won’t work are the B6A-HD-XX cables as the RedMere chipset is only rated to HDCP 1.4. I was able to get the full 4K image, with no error messages, using SnapAV cables less than 10' long.
FYI

What he said:
Redmere will not support anything above 10.2 G, HDCP should not be effected by active cables (but, we have seen some interesting issues in reference to that).

Passive cables are invisible to HDCP (of any kind), however distance (much more than 4 meters for a good cable) will kill all rez above 10 G.

Brett,
PRA1700 Red Mere chipset is supposed to handle 18G. Your thoughts?

BIG FAIL!
There has been a huge failure rate on this product, we have worked with one of the major Redmere (Spectra 7) cable/OEM companies and they have eaten darn near everything that they have made.
Currently once the cable is built (pacific rim) it must be shipped to the US (Ca.) to be programmed and then back to Asia to finish. The correct 18 Gbps chip (unfortunately without EDID repair) has been pushed back until later this summer (+/-).
BTW: the main issue is not the 18 Gbps, it is the 18 Gbps being consistent across all 3 video channels (hard). Displays in order to set the correct input equalization sample a TMDS channel (Red, Green or Blue), while this is a great idea, they only sample ONE of these channels. Sadly cable builds (especially lower priced cables) rarely are consistent as to TMDS performance across all 3 video channels, this means that if the display samples the strong channel (by sheer luck) it will not apply enough EQ to the not so strong channel(s). Adding to the above issue are the problems with the EDID channel (all of the question/answers that must be done prior to the release of the video), since the current "17xx" series of Redmere and the next gen "81xx" series do nothing to assist in this data making the trip there is a very high probability of failure.

(Sales Talk Alert)
We work with a number of display mfgr's and they all use either our Velox (active) cables or our MHX passive cables with the GA1 (Gigabit Accelerator) to ensure that their demos will work with anything over 6 meters.

BTW: Just read the article again and this time noted the publish date at the bottom and it was December of 2014, this is significant for a couple of reasons; the first of which is that at that time there was not a single actual source/display that could support HDR, or 4K/60, 4:4:4 for testing. The second is that 2 weeks later while at CES I had a conversation their head engineer at their hotel suite where they had the Tectronics Signal Generator/Scope setup in a small hallway, at that time they were pushing their new "Couch" ultra High Bandwidth cable and showing the performance on the scope. When I noted that they had the settings at only 10 Gbps and that even there the "eye Patterns" did not look so good (I have after all been trained by Jeff Boccaccio) they looked somewhat displeased and shortened my visit and encouraged me to leave (with a free sample of the Couch cable).

Sorry, I know this chipset and it is not ready for the "4K/, HDR" Primetime.
However, just to validate/refute my thoughts I have ordered one of the Monoprice (claimed) 18 Gbps cables for testing by DPL Labs, this will of course cost us some money, but I do want to know the facts.

Thanks, Brent! I have added the HDM-GA1 to my shopping cart. Will place the order soon after I determine which cables I will also need.

The only cable we have had work 100% of the time is the Velox cable from ethereal. Every time it works for us without fail. Over a dozen installs with no issues other than the receiver not handling HDR. Not the cables fault.

Every other cable we have tried is hit or miss. We don't purchase a single cable anymore for 5+ meters that isn't a Velox
