About 10 years ago i worked for Magnolia/BB. On the vans we had plenty of fish like the one below in the link. We also had a long, black container to store them in. It could easily be tucked up and away inside the van with a couple of bungees. I have no idea who made this storage piece. Anyone know? I checked Klein, a bunch of low volt places, and a few van accessory sites - no luck.

Thanks,

If you don't want screw on. There's always something like this, especially helpful with a lock if mounted on top of vehicle.

When I worked at the solar company they had the 100% PVC stuff, including the end caps. Sure was awesome watching 10 piece of conduit fly from the roof because they slowly breached through the plastic end cap.

Do you want cloth, or plastic? How many sticks? If you have less than ten, PVC pipe with a screw-on end on one end, a glued-on cap at the other. If you want lightweight and clear, a florescent tube cover and some kind of cap on each end- they sell these in different sizes. If you want ballistic nylon, go to an upholstery shop and have them make one- shouldn't be terribly expensive.

A Plastics place that I happened to run across had polycarbonate tubes. I got a six and a half foot piece, about 1" ID, planning to somehow glue a PVC pipe end onto it. By accident I found that a copper pipe end fit almost exactly. Heated the copper, slipped it on, added glue: I had a clear storage tube that's perfect for inside the van. The one drawback, and the hardest thing to come up with, is a closure for the other end.

The tube holds nine sticks very easily.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

BES has had those for over 10 years. And do you know where the idea came from = fishing rod cases.

And they are cheaper and a lot more variety to buy them as such.

You guys are blowing my mind. Im not a go fishing type of guy so i had no idea about this.

We need to dig up one of those tools threads and force everyone to dump their bags and take a photo.

Looks a bit like a case for a fishing rod.

Never mind- I didn't see the other post.

So, you used a copper cap that probably cost 3x as much as a PVC cap?

For the other end, how about another cap with a clevis pin that goes through the cap & tube?

Damn!

BES a little over $100.00, the Flambeau Rod Case at $50.00?

Hmmm, let's see....

3" pvc pipe $10.98, 3" pipe cap $0.64, 3" Threaded adapter $3.98, 3" Threaded Plug $2.50, and some glue = $18.07 (Lowe's prices).

What to do, what to do....

Maybe use 2" PVC to lower the cost? LOL

Ditto.

I bought some 4 foot and 6 foot drill bits sometime back and the shipping carton was a piece of PVC pipe. 6 feet long, I put it in my truck and slid my glow rods inside – the only way to go.

You all keep glow rods? The way my boss leaves them in walls and attics, I thought they were supposed to be disposable.
