client has one and subwoofer disconnects or does some sort of a heartbeat sound. Is this worth messing with?

Would try to connect with a cable temporarily, if it's even a remote option of a permanent solution.

Does it have auto-on and is the input level set extremely high/sub out set low? Could be a matter of the level from the front end not being high enough to trigger the auto-on. Ask if the power stays on and if it happens when no program material is playing.

If it's old, it could be "motorboating", which might mean it needs service (possibly electrolytic caps).
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

The reason I asked, I am familiar with another premium brand that decided they needed a sound bar/subwoofer option, and it was so lame. Not at all like the rest of their offerings. I know paradigm has a great reputation, but was not sure if this particular set had paradigm quality or Chinese quality.
