We have a customer that has whole house lighting (Programmed using D3). They want to add logic to some buttons that are outside of the D3 Program (example, set lights to specific value and also turn ON TV and set it to Satellite input).
To achieve this is it just a matter of importing RSD's into D3 and creating the steps using the D3 program? Is this the proper way to achieve the results I'm looking for or is there another solution that may be easier?
The AV portion of the system is Programmed using Simpl.
Any help with this would be much appreciated

I typically export RSDs from D3 and program in SIMPL when doing this. I find it easier especially when all your A/V is done in SIMPL. It's really quite easy, PM me if you need any help.

An RSD is exactly what you use to do this. You can create an RSD in the D3 program then export that RSD and add it to the SIMPL program in the AV controller.
When ever a signal changes on an RSD in either controller, its change is reflected on the RSD in the other controller.

1)In SIMPL add an EISC
2)add your signal triggers etc to the EISC
3)right-click on EISC -> export as RSD
4)import RSD into D3
5) program D3 to do the lights
I mean, you COULD also just screw around in SIMPL using analog inits/presets etc.
