is there not a away to adjust bass and treble via the software? i have a unit with no keypads. it has been years since i worked on one but i could have sworn you could adjust bass and trble. it is nowhere to be found on this one.

You can adjust bass & treble using the PC Tools software.  Years ago the software had to be purchased, but I think I remember that you can download it now for free since the product is discontinued.

It's an RS-232 connection, so you'll need a serial port or serial port adapter.  Some of the serial port adapters didn't work well, but Russound had a list of ones they tested.

Yes I am connected to it via pic power tools. I cannot find any way to adjust bass and treble. It is connected to a crestron control system via serial connection. No keypads onsite.

On the zone setup page of the software, I could swear there was an adjustment for bass and treble. But I do not see it anywhere. I cannot find anywhere in the software that has it.

It's been years now since I've worked with a CAV or CAM, but I'm almost sure bass, treble, balance and loundess was available in the software,

There are discrete RS-232 commands for bass & treble for each zone so if you have the serial connection, terminal emulator and serial command documentation you should just be able to issue commands to alter bass & treble.  If this is a one time adjustment, this might be all you need.

I seem to remember the serial commands had a checksum and were cumbersome to work with.  I believe Russound had a XLS file available with all the commands printed out so you could copy and paste them.

Might be easier to pick up a used keypad to set the levels, and then remove the keypad...

7.4 Bass
Bass levels displayed on keypads range in value from -10 through +10. These Bess levels are represented in Decimal when using RS-232 messages ranging in value from 0 - 20. In the actual Data message the HEX value is used which would range in value from 0x00 – 0x14. This means
(0x00 = 0 = -10, 0x01 = 1 = -9, 0x02 = 2 = -8 … 0x14 = 20 = +10).
NOTE: The keypad displays will not automatically update for this change.
7.4.1 Bass Up/Bass Down
The following example shows the Bass level being increased or decreased.

The Bass & Treble on the CAV6.6 either be set from the keypad or they can be adjusted by using the hex codes listed in this thread.
The PC Power Tool Software does not have settings for Bass & Treble for the zones. The easiest way to do this would be to pick up an UNO keypad to make the adjustments.
