So,
Does anyone else agree that the "Vote on OT posts" thread was prematurely closed?
There was no name calling, no nasty replies to a joke about politics.
Although I will admit to telling someone they had a very tiny member, there was really nothing going on.
Sorry Impact, but you need to slow down and let some things run. You're a bit to quick on the trigger.
As long as there's no name calling and other nastiness, you need to let people express their opinions.
If you can't see that you're over reacting, then maybe it's time for you to step down as a mod.

I think the reason for the lock on the thread was due to the last 2 posts (prior to Impact's final one).
The initial post was in regards to how one person from a different country was implying how another country should look at changing their views on specific laws.
This post was in my mind "poking the bear" and before the bear was awakened after the initial response, Impact thought it was a good idea to stop the bear poking.
I don't have a problem with the thread being locked to ensure that nothing else was said, but while the thread is locked, remove the two posts and open it up again and people will get back on track with the thread

I, on the other hand, took the "upside down" persons post as humor...
I mean after all, what do "those" people know? They've all spent way too much time hanging on the Earth upside down, and that has got to mess your brain up something awful...
They put "a shrimp on the barbie"? Why would you put a shrimp on a barbie doll?

Yeah, I thought Simon was poking fun more than actually being serious. After all they are the big island with a bunch of convicts! They shouldn't question us about crime ;)-

Yes. Delete offensive posts if needs be but leave the thread.
This after all is the "lounge".
However if no one is objecting to the posts in the thread then perhaps just leave it alone.

They put "a shrimp on the barbie"? Why would you put a shrimp on a barbie doll? That, and the water spirals down the opposite direction --- counter clockwise... Cant trust that country! Plus isnt that where all the felons got shipped?

8>) So what's the deal with your "missing brother" ?!? Did you forget to take your medication again Bruce? I swear man this better not be a BS lie, it's one thing to make up stories like you do but it is morally F*****D up to lie about something like your brother missing to garner attention.

Simon made a joke about guns in the USA and then KOT challenged his logic. I was angry about the lock down because i wanted to point KOT to an article about the place where Simon lives... [Link: washingtonpost.com]

Gun control works period. It does. I keep my gun under control most all the time. But every now and then it goes off on it's own and does who knows what.

Lemme get my 2¢ in here before it's a lockout... this forum moderator business is like back in the good old days when a few "responsible" students would be chosen as hall monitors, to keep all the other students in line.
