John, I think I've got some Elan component receivers that went with their matrix. The matrix had cat outs, like the Hd6. Those work, or you need both ends? Casey, I need both transmit and receivers, decora body in wall. I've ordered 4 pairs of the Snaps. Hopefully I have better luck than Ryan. Not much to fail on a passive. Should be just matching transformers for Y, Pb, Pr

Not much to fail on a passive. Should be just matching transformers for Y, Pb, Pr Order 4.5 pairs and you should be good. They're passive, no Tx or Rx.

I used the Binary on 4 different zones of this matrix.
One run is pretty long and I get ghosting on this zone. The Binary passive baluns on the other zones work fine.
So I need to find an active balun set to eliminate the ghosting. I did a search on this forum and there was a thread where someone was having the exact ghosting problem and an active balun (ironically, the Elan that is now disco'd) immediately solved the problem.
So... looking for active balun suggestions. Not sure if AA still makes units available, but I think you had to use their matrix and they only offered receivers separately to be used with their matrices. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Anyone still have any Elan balun sets (Elan model CVWP, I think?) collecting dust on a shelf anywhere? Or know of another active component video balun solution to consider?
I've looked on eBay and a few other places, no luck.
This system is too big to switch over to hdmi. I know, someday he'll have to do it, but it is 16 zones of component video matrices, so it would be expensive. Someday, but not today.

A long run with ghosting sounds like an improperly terminated transmission line, such as 75 ohm video.
Does the receiving end of what you've got allow you to select its impedance? If it's not set to 75 ohms, this could be the problem. Really.
I once "cured" a horrible ghosting problem in a CCTV system by unplugging a 100 foot long cable that went to a second monitor position, where the monitor had been taken away... leaving the cable unterminated.
If the far end doesn't allow impedance selection, you might cure the problem by putting a resistor across the video line, and yes, really. The problem with this is that you'll have to experiment with the resistor value (but start with 75 ohms), then you'll have to install it professionally in some way.
