H**** yeah NASCAR!!!!

Screw it, I haven't taken interest in NASCAR in almost 10 years. (We can add up my wedding anniversary to Big E's death to figure it out)

But given the way the calendar worked out, I took money off and watched the end of the race. FML! !!!!!!!!

That's an ending!!!!!!

Best race in a long damn time, minus the rain delays, I stayed up and watched it to the end, but I am west coast time zone.

Fell asleep with about 40 to go. happened to wake up for the GWC. wow. the catch fence did its job about as well as can be expected. the safety innovations nascar drives are great, but its still only a matter of time before a superspeedway takes another life.

Can someone tell me what happened last night at Daytona? Apparently it was a big deal.

Big fan for years and that was THE wreck of the century. CRAZY wild and he walked away from it all. WOW. And to top that off, it was a GREAT race, best in a while.

Bunch of cars driving around and and around and around and around then they crashed, which is why people watch it.

I watched the recording last night - i can't imagine the G-forces Dillon experienced when the fence stopped his forward motion. I bet his torso is really sore right now.

The various replays showed Brendan Gaughan in car #62 barely avoided hitting Dillon's engine/tranny assembly by inches as he swerved to avoid Dillon's upside down car. That would have been another horrible impact!

watched the whole last half...wow.

Just like a lot of other things Stan...you have to experience them, BEFORE you critique them.

If you have never been to Daytona or Talladega, you need to be quiet. These two tracks have something in common. Cars in packs of 40, three wide, going over 200 MPH. If you have never experienced this LIVE, you have NO IDEA what you are talking about. I have been to both. One year, I went to both in the same year. Very different tracks, but the same speed and sound. When the cars are away from you running in the huge pack, the sound of all the engines wide open in unison is over the top incredible. Same as Indy, F1, been to both type races also, they are a much higher pitch. Nothing can beat that sound that NASCAR makes in a group of cars.

YOU CAN NOT GET THIS FROM SITTING ON THE COUCH. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS. YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO GET OFF YOUR BUTT, GET ON A PLANE SOUTH AND EAST OF YOU TO ONE OF TWO LOVELY LOCATIONS!

The only other REAL race, is the Bristol Night Race.

My wife took me for our tenth anniversary, Friday and Sat night!

I really want JR to win a championship so I can stop watching. The sport went to shit after SR died in my opinion along with NASCAR getting very greedy in their marketing strategy.

And if you have never experienced 43 cars taking the green flag under full throttle then you definitely need to get up off your butt and go at least one time.

Same with NHRA, the sensory overload you get when two cars change the atmosphere around you along with wiggling your intestines as they go by is something you have to experience. 10.000 horsepower between two cars, Holy Cow!

I have said this before, I don't care how prepared you think you are, the first time you experience Top Fuel, IT SCARES THE SHIT OUT OF YOU!

Did you see Kesolowski plow right into Dillon at the end? That impact had to be damn near as brutal as the initial catch fence collision.

I have always thought they should have short tethers on the power tranes like they do on suspensions on open wheel cars.

That could have been a very fatal situation.
